Kahoot for the game. QuizForge for the quiz.
Disclosure first: QuizForge is our product. Kahoot is the best live classroom quiz game there is: questions on the projector, students racing on their phones, music and a podium. If that is what you want, keep using it. QuizForge does something different. It writes self-paced quizzes from your own handouts, slides and readings, checks each answer key against that material, and gives you a class gradebook and per-question analytics afterwards. Many teachers use both: Kahoot for Friday review, QuizForge for the reading checks and exam prep in between.

When Kahoot is the better choice
When the point is energy in the room. A timed question on the projector, a leaderboard between rounds and a podium at the end get a tired class engaged in a way a self-paced quiz never will. QuizForge has no live mode, and we are not going to pretend a leaderboard is the same thing.
Kahoot also has a large library of public kahoots. For a standard topic you may find a ready-made game in seconds; quality varies, but it can save you the upload entirely.
When QuizForge is the better choice
When the quiz has to measure what students learned from your material. Time pressure and game dynamics reward speed alongside knowledge, which is great for engagement and noisy as assessment. A QuizForge quiz is taken at the student’s own pace, every answer has an explanation, and the results land in a gradebook with the most-missed questions highlighted.
And when the material is long. QuizForge picks the passages that matter from across the whole document before writing questions, then checks each answer key against your source and drops questions the material contradicts or where two options could be right. You still review the quiz, but you start from questions that have already been checked.
Common questions
QuizForge vs KahootCan I run a QuizForge quiz live in class?
You can have everyone open the link at once and compare scores on the leaderboard, but there is no host-controlled, question-by-question game. For that, use Kahoot.
Can I import my kahoots?
No. QuizForge generates quizzes from documents and text; it does not import quiz files from other tools. If your kahoot came from a handout, upload the handout.
Which is cheaper?
Both have free tiers. QuizForge Pro is $9/month for 25 quizzes and 3 classes; see our pricing. Kahoot has separate plans for teachers, students and businesses, so check their site for the one that fits.
Is there a longer comparison?
Yes, covering Kahoot, Wayground (Quizizz), Quizlet and Google Forms: best AI quiz generators for teachers.
Keep the game. Add the quiz.
Upload one handout and compare the questions with what you would write yourself. Free plan: 2 quizzes a month, no credit card.
